My name is Marinés Aquije and I'm a Peruvian Artist and Graphic Designer, currently living in Melbourne, Australia. I have a Bachelor and a Licentiate Degree in Art majoring in Graphic Design from PUCP in Lima, Perú.
I have been working in the Art and Graphic Design industry for the past 8 years across agencies and design studios and have been involved in numerous Art Exhibitions including two Solo Exhibitions in 2017.
My passion is drawing and painting, and thoroughly enjoy working with colleagues and clients to bring great ideas to life.
My artistic work is based on life situations and portraits of living beings. Sometimes my inspiration could come from everyday life or in some cases it could be a hybrid between what's real and the way I select certain elements to work together and how I imagine the composition.
My style is based on the materials I use. I love the texture of graphite and the looseness of watercolor. I feel these materials help me portray the way I see the world. I am very inspired by emotion, gesture and eye contact, so my main focus is on these particular details of my characters, I to try to illustrate their sensations or their reactions to specific situations and attempt to tell a story to the observer.
